whats fire made of ?

what is fire made of is it a gas or what ?

    The flame bit of fire is made of hot gases, these gases are so hot that the electrons in it's atoms have been elevated to higher orbitals. The flame is emitting light as the electrons return to their original quantum levels. This is why fire emits light. Furthermore the energy level transitions are unique to an element so the colour of the flame can tell us which elements are present .
